    kettlebells

Cast Iron vs. CompetitioN:

What's the Difference?

  • Cast Iron Kettlebells

Traditional cast iron kettlebells typically have a wider, more varied shape as the weight increases. The handle size and bell dimensions can change from one weight to another, which can make each kettlebell feel a little different in your hands. They're a great choice for:

  • General strength and conditioning

  • Home gyms

  • Beginners building a kettlebell collection

  • Kettlebell flows and functional training

  • Competition Kettlebells

Competition kettlebells are designed with a standardized size and shape regardless of weight. As the weight increases, the bell gets heavier but the overall dimensions remain consistent. They typically have a more uniform handle and are commonly used for sport-style kettlebell training. They're a great choice for:

  • Consistent technique across different weights

  • Kettlebell sport training

  • Athletes progressing through heavier weights

  • Anyone who prefers a standardized feel

Which One Should You Choose?

For most people starting a home gym, cast iron kettlebells are a great place to begin. They're versatile and work well for a wide range of exercises and training styles.

If you're more focused on kettlebell sport, practicing technical movements, or prefer the consistency of the same-sized bell as you progress in weight, competition kettlebells may be the better fit.

There isn't necessarily a "better" option—the right kettlebell depends on how you plan to train.
